The Party in the Revolution of 1905–1907

Russia's military failures, the worsening of the people's lives, the barbaric shooting of a peaceful demonstration on January 9, 1905 – all this and more served as a catalyst for the revolutionary events of 1905–1907.

The BSG actively joined the struggle for the overthrow of tsarism.

The party's activities during the revolutionary period were conducted in several directions: the development of a party program; political education and mass agitation; the organization of trade unions; the organization of and participation in strikes, rallies, and demonstrations; and preparation for armed uprisings.

The BSG program (see Outline of the program of the Belarusian Socialist Hramada) was adopted by the II Congress of the party at the end of 1905.

The party's publishing activity was quite active. To date, 18 BSG leaflets have been published and identified in archives:

It should be kept in mind that each leaflet, as a rule, was published in Cyrillic and Latin scripts. In addition, some leaflets were published in other languages. For instance, the BSG program, as Anton Luckievič testifies, was published in Belarusian, Yiddish, Polish, and Russian.

Furthermore, in the memoirs and articles of Zigmas Angarietis, Michaś Bič and his co-author Stanisłaŭ Rudovič, Alaksandar Burbis, Chviedar Imšenik, Anton Luckievič, Feliks Stackievič, and Alaksandar Šlubski, the titles or contents of another 17 leaflets of the BRG and BSG are mentioned, which have not yet been found in the archives. These are:

The BSG also distributed proclamations and brochures printed by other parties. One such publication was the leaflet“Conscripts!”.
